The County Jail is operated by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.
The mission of the Sheriff's Department in regard to the Jail is to provide for the effective and efficient operation of a secure and humane correctional facility.
The Jail Administraor is Mr. Jason Duke. The Jail Operation coordinator is Karla Boucher . Our Jail is staffed by eight correctional officers, one transport officer, and one part time Correctional officer.
Our inmates work.... Inmates that are sentenced may work on the Road Crew if they qualify and positions are available. Inmates assigned these positions work keeping roadsides clean, and help non-profit organizations.
Since January 1, 2008 imates at the Wayne County Jail have worked 50,000 man hours serving the citizens of Wayne County.
Our agency exists to be the Conservator of the Peace in Wayne County.
